The ultimate goal is to create a great story from my limited time as a footballer.
The best way to reach that goal is to become my best version.
To become my best version, I owe it to myself to give myself every advantage possible. The external rewards will fall into place after. So best version first, everything else after.
The best athletes in the world experience ups and downs, so it is okay for me to experience the same. I am not chasing perfection, I am chasing discipline.
I want people to watch me and think β I am not trying to be the best player, I am trying to be the bravest player.
I play soccer because I love it. Because I want to see how far I can go. Soccer serves me, I do not serve soccer.

It requires mental discipline to follow a framework. Just like a bodybuilder follows a diet, I follow my framework. I do it because it centers me and guides me better than my default emotions.
Following a framework keeps me focused and is very respectable to myself and others.
My framework says everything external is a distraction. Everything is subjective and changing. External validation is not a reliable way to believe in myself.
A much better way to believe in myself is: am I controlling what I can control? This is more solid. So the real question is β am I trying my truthful best to get 1% better every day? If I am doing that, then I can be confident in who I am.
The past is behind me. I cannot change it. It is quickly forgotten anyway. And the future is so far away I have no idea what will change. So I need to focus on the now. Only the now matters.
I am responsible for my own development. I do not owe anyone my energy, and they do not owe it to me. So my energy and my judgment belong to me too.
One bad game is like one bad page in a great book. It gets forgotten because we are grinding every day.

I need to understand myself. I need to know when I play my best. How much stress am I under? What are my main objectives? Now what we need to do is replicate those circumstances.
I use my resources to mentally dump all of the negative distractions and organize my thoughts.
I understand where my blue, green, and red zones are, and I have the tools to get myself there.
I use my tools to crush ANTβs in 2 seconds.
I use my game face to get myself back into my peak performance mindset β into the here and now.
I use my skills to focus on the ball and the game.
